Fluck Reviews helps people choose local businesses with confidence. That only works if every review is real. These guidelines explain who can review, what a review can contain, and what happens when the rules are broken. They are provided by Fluck AI LTD (Company No. 15723506), Innovation Centre, Knowledge Gateway, Boundary Road, Colchester, Essex, CO4 3ZQ, United Kingdom, and form part of our community guidelines.
Fake reviews are not allowed on Fluck. Nobody may write, buy, sell, swap or arrange a review that doesn't reflect a real experience. That rule applies to customers, businesses and anyone acting for them.
1. Who can write a review
- You need to be at least 16.
- You write reviews while signed in to the Fluck web app or app, or through a review link or QR code the business gave you. Reviews through a link or QR code are checked for 24 hours before they appear, and show the name you give.
- Reviews you write while signed in show your display name. We never show your email address or phone number.
- One review per business. If you go back, update your existing review rather than writing a new one.
2. Your review must be based on a genuine experience
You can review a business if you used its services, bought from it, visited it, received its product or service as a gift, or tried to use it (for example, a booking the business cancelled). Write about your own experience, in your own words.
3. Photos and tags
- You can add up to five photos. They must be your own, of your experience at the business.
- Photos must not show identifiable people without their permission, or anyone's personal details such as receipts with names or card numbers. We remove location and camera details from photos when you upload them.
- You can tag the team member who served you and the service or product you had. Team members are shown by first name and the first letter of their surname.
4. Invited reviews
- Businesses may invite you to review them, usually by email after a visit. An invitation never obliges you to write anything, and it never tells you what to say.
- You can always write a review on Fluck, whether or not you were invited.
5. Conflicts of interest
Don't review a business if you own, manage or work for it (or did in the last 12 months), are a close family member or friend of someone who does, work for a competitor, supplier or partner of it, or have been offered anything by someone connected with it or with a competitor. Businesses must not ask their staff, family or friends to review them.
6. Incentives
- Don't accept anything in return for a review, or to change or remove one. That includes money, discounts, free products, refunds, prize-draw entries, loyalty points and gifts.
- If a business offers you something for a review, a particular rating, or a change to your review, please report it (see the moderation and reporting policy).
- Loyalty programmes on Fluck never depend on whether you leave a review or what rating you give.
7. What your review must not contain
You're welcome to be positive, negative or mixed. Honest criticism is allowed and useful. We remove reviews, or photos, that include:
- Fake or misleading content, or content about a different business.
- Undisclosed incentives or conflicts of interest (sections 5 and 6).
- Personal information, such as anyone's full name (including staff surnames), phone number, email, home address, health or financial details, or images of identifiable people without consent.
- Hate or discrimination against people for a protected characteristic.
- Threats, harassment or bullying.
- Sexual, violent or graphic content.
- Illegal content, or content that encourages illegal activity.
- False statements of fact that could damage someone's reputation. Opinions are fine; invented facts are not.
- Extortion: demanding anything in exchange for not posting, changing or removing a review.
- Advertising, spam or links, including promoting another business.
- Off-topic content not about your experience.
- Impersonation, or reviews posted on someone else's account.
- Content copied from elsewhere, or that you don't have the right to share.
Fluck doesn't edit reviews. If your review breaks these rules, we remove it and tell you why.
8. Editing, withdrawing and deleting
- You can edit your review at any time. Edited reviews are checked again.
- You can withdraw your review at any time. It stops appearing and stops counting straight away.
- If you delete your Fluck account, your reviews and photos are deleted too, and the business's rating is recalculated.
9. What businesses can and can't do
- Businesses can reply publicly, invite customers to review, report a review they believe breaks these guidelines, and ask to resolve a problem with you through Fluck.
- Businesses can't hide, delete or edit reviews on their Fluck page, pay to remove them, see your contact details from your review, offer you anything to change a review, or threaten you.
- Replying to a business's request is your choice.
10. If the guidelines are broken
- We may remove the review or photo and tell the reviewer why. The reviewer can appeal once, within 30 days.
- Depending on how serious or repeated the breach is, we may also warn the reviewer, stop them posting reviews, or close the account.
- Businesses that break the rules can receive a public warning on their Fluck page, and we may hide their rating while it applies.
